Amy & Steve Wedding Photos Kansas City, MO

This was a beautiful wedding we shot which started out at The Unity Temple on the Plaza. After the ceremony we went to The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art for some really fun shots. While we were there the Kansas City Star was doing a story on the Shuttlecocks and a few of our images were actually featured in the paper! After that We went downtown right across from the Marriott Hotel before heading to the reception which was at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

I wanted to post this family portrait session that we did awhile back for an awesome family! We always try to keep our sessions fun and relaxed and that's exactly what this session was! We were so excited with the results from this session and so were they! Seeing the interactions between the grandparents and grandchildren really solidified the importance of the family photos.

Amy's Senior Portraits

Amy is a senior at Park Hill South this year. We first met her early this year when we were shooting her sister Kasey's senior photos. Amy came along for the ride and apparently she liked what she saw because she came back! Amy and her sister Kasey were both so awesome to work with. Lora and I have so much fun working with seniors and when they are as beautiful as these two are, the results are amazing!

Gabriel Christmas Photos

This is one of our best friends' son Gabriel. We've been photographing him since the day he was born and it's amazing how much he has changed in just this short period of time. When I go back through his photos it reminds me of how precious children are and how important it is to capture these moments. Here is a little bit about Gabriel and some of the things I have learned from him.

Gabriel can't get enough of being swung around or flying like "Super Man" and once you do something entertaining, plan on doing it for the next 30 to 60 minutes. He used to like long crawls on the carpet, now his passion has changed to avoiding the goofy guy with the camera. When asked about Christmas and Santa Clause he replied "ba chomp ba chomp ba chewwy chewwy chomp."

Gabriel has taught me several things over the past year and a half. He has taught me that snot is ok and that if we are going to photograph him then we will just have to deal with it. He has taught me a new way to interact with animals other than just holding and petting them. Instead try chasing them for 20 minutes and when you finally corner them lay on top of them until an adult says "ah ah ah... play nice!" I have learned that there is no 5 second rule with Cheerios, even if they turn to saw dust on a wooden floor. Simply bend over, grunt, place the cheerios in your mouth and everything will be ok. He's taught me that diapers do not guarantee safety from the evil that lurks within, and this evil comes in all colors! And finally, he's taught me that no matter what happens, we always get some damn cute photos!

Chris & Kara Engagement

Dan & Amy Wedding

Dan & Amy were married at the beautiful Church of the Redemptorist on 9/27/08 then celebrated at The Clubhouse on Baltimore. They are such a wonderful couple and we had so much fun with them and their bridal party. We rode around with them in the limo before the ceremony and they are one fun and crazy bunch. When you have such a good looking bride and groom and such beautiful locations it is hard to narrow your favorite images down. Getting them down to this many wasn't easy. Enjoy!

The Muse Project

So...Lora and I are the head photographers for a networking event called The Muse Project. This was started by Toria Best (Envy Photography) and CaraSue Hall (Makeup Artist). Each month they offer a new theme and location around the Kansas City area and this gives models, photographers, makeup artists, hair stylists and clothing designers and chance to collaborate and come up with some pretty amazing stuff. This has been a great opportunity for us because not only do we get to work with all these wonderful people but we also get to practice new techniques and grow as artists! We have decided that it is time to post some of the images that we've captured at these events. Enjoy!

We recently shot the wedding of Emily & Jovan. Her mother Julie Miller owns and operates Evergreen Events with Donna Nagle owner of Molly's Table as the caterer. We love Julie and Donna and look foward to anytime we get to work with them. Evergreen Event space is absolutely beautiful, you could not ask for better service and the food is always spectaculor! Emily is an absolutely beautiful and amazing woman and we were so blessed to be a part of her wedding. Her new husband Jovan has an amazing spirit and together they are just radiant. What have we been up to?

We are totally slacking on keeping up with our blog. Sorry about that. We have been super busy trying to finish our basement into the studio. So far so good! The floor is being installed as we speak. All we have left to do is paint, put in trim and furniture and we are good to go. We have also been working with The Muse Project as the head photographer and I (Lora) have been working as a makeup artist. The Muse Project combines models, hair stylists, makeup artists and photographers to create amazing images for everyones' portfolios. If you haven't heard about it you should check it out. Nathan & Stacie 4.14.07

I recently shot a wedding for Nathan & Stacie Porter at one of my favorite venues. The wedding was held at The College Church of the Nazarene in Olathe, KS and the reception was at Evergreen Events in Paola, KS. Evergreen Events is one of my favorite places to shoot because not only is exquisite inside but it has so many option for photography. There is plenty of window light upstairs and down, the wooden floors are amazing and Julie Miller (One of the nicest most sincere persons I have ever met) has paid attention to the details! To top that off the catering from Donna is top of the line. This particular wedding was dessert oriented and the presentation as well as the tastes were to die for. I met Nathan & Stacie at a PWG Bridal Show back in October of 2006. We set up a meeting at the Borders Bookstore in Olathe, KS and that is where they decided to book me as there photographer. This was an absolutely beautiful wedding with so many heartfelt moments and it was so wonderful to be a part of there big day! I wish these two the best!

Kim Senior Photos

About a month ago, I posted a "Senior Special" on our website in an attempt to jump start our Senior Photography business. Kim was my first Senior to respond and I am so thrilled that she did. Kim will be graduating from St. Mary's High School and I think she has a great future ahead of her. She was very easy going and willing to try anything. Part of my job as the photographer is to connect with my clients and sometimes it works in the opposite direction in that the clients make me feel at ease and that really helps with the creative process. I am so excited about the photos that we were able to capture for her! I also had the wonderful opportunity to meet her parents as well as her sister Linda and they are all just awesome! We shot the indoor photos at there house and we went to Loose Park for the outdoor session. Here are a few of my favorites from each, I hope you enjoy!
